Truth be told I am not a fan of foundation. I’ll very rarely wear it, only on the occasion if I am going to an event or somewhere where I need the extra coverage. I think it’s important to embrace what you look like bare faced. It’s okay to not feel the need that you have to put on makeup each time you go out. Yes, I will admit that I like the process of doing my makeup, but sometimes I just can’t be bothered. When I first started Uni I would make an effort to go all out with my makeup, fast forward to now I couldn’t give a f*ck. Sounds lazy I know but when you have an early morning lecture you’re just thinking about how you’re going to stay awake.
I have been blessed with good skin so I really don’t see the need to have a full coverage foundation. I really don’t like caking my face because I don’t like the heavy feeling. However, in saying all this I still like to have some coverage to cover slight pigmentation. Last time I was makeup shopping at MECCA I was on the hunt for something that provided minimal coverage. Something that didn’t leave my skin feeling like it was gasping for air. The other reason why I tend to stay away from heavy full coverage foundation is that my skin is more on the dry side and full coverage foundation just emphasises the dryness.
Let me introduce you to your new makeup saviour
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue.
I mean, the name says it itself. The complexion rescue isn’t what you would call a ‘foundation’ but more of a blend between a bb cream and tinted moisturiser. The product is marketed as a tinted hydrating gel cream. What I like about it is that it gives a natural look, leaving you with a healthy, dewy glow.
