Sun Peaks, Canada – Winter Wonderland Escape

Hello my wonderful readers and welcome back to a new travel post! I hope this Friday is treating you all well. If you have been following me on social media and keeping up to date with the blog then you would know that for the past three weeks I have been on holiday in beautiful Sun Peaks ski resort, British Columbia, Canada. If you read my post “reasons to take a ski holiday”, then you would would have gotten a small taste into the magic that it was. The last time I visited Canada a few years ago, I went to Whistler, so I was super excited to see what this resort would be like.

As soon as we stepped off the plane we definitely felt the cold snap. Apparently they were experiencing an unusually cold winter.. i’m talking -20 degrees! I wasn’t sure how I was going to cope in such temperatures, as I’m a blue bird, groomed runs, fair-weather kind of skier.  But I can honestly say that the cold, surprisingly didn’t bother me that much at all. It just mean’t lots of hot chocolate breaks! We stayed in a house on one of the ski runs that we booked through When travelling I highly recommend doing a house stay. Not only is it extremely convenient and creates that home space, but you get to meet some great people too! The lovely family whose house we stayed in were so kind and welcoming! Even inviting us over for New Years, which was so much fun. I will miss the ski in and out lifestyle and welcoming spa each night.

The best word I can use to describe Sun Peaks is ‘magical’. The village itself looked like it belonged in southern Italy with all the colourful buildings. Waking up every morning to the cool, crisp air, overlooking the endless flow of mountains made leaving that much harder. Leaving beautiful Sun Peaks has made me itching to get back travelling.

I know I have mentioned it on my blog previously, but I want to definitely experience more this year, whether that’s more of the world or Australia itself. There’s so much to do and see and i’m not going to hold myself back or make excuses. It’s time to take action. I hope you all enjoy these photos and recommendations! I also quickly want to say thank you to you all so much! Seeing this little blog progress at the pace it has in the little time it has been active has been a total dream come true! As always if you have suggestions on what you want to see on this blog, please don’t hesitate to get in contact. Where are some places you want to travel this year?
