The Corset Trend – Ah the corset. Once what was seen as a restrictive item that was subjected to women to conform to the ideal fashions of the time, is now getting a totally new and improved makeover. From waist trainer’s to lingerie to now a fashion accessory (or oversized belt). It wasn’t until this year at New York fashion week when iconic names such as Prada took on the corset trend and brought it into a whole new light.

Because of this, it now seems more designers are taking notice of the newly found accessory. The revamped trend.

Now you’re probably wondering.. How does one get away with this trend right?

If you are going to wear a corset you need to be 100% in as it’s definitely a standout. The key to wearing a corset is to layer and to wear it over clothing. Similarly and historically to when it was used to slim the waist, adding a corset is a great way to accentuate your curves and therefore break up what could be a simple outfit. Take the photo of Kylie Jenner for example. The green corset is what makes what would be a simple white baggy or oversized dress to something totally different and unique.

I personally love how the corset has made comeback. What do you all think? Are you a fan of the newly revived corset, or would you say it is best forgotten?
